Naturist in the OC Photography Policy
One of NitOC’s (Naturist in the O.C.’s) primary objectives is the promotion of family naturism. As the saying goes a photo is often worth a thousand words. Therefore, NitOC is committed to taking photos that truly represent our events and our family naturist values. These photos will only include our members, their children and guests that participate in our events and that have consented to be included in our photos. All photos taken by NitOC, it’s photographers and its members and that are posted to our albums are owned by NitOC.
NitOC, its photographers and board members will make every effort to ensure all images are tasteful and represent our lifestyle. Extra care will be taken with pictures depicting minors to ensure they are in line with the standards established by The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit October 23, 2000 ruling (1) which clearly established that family naturist photographs are not pornographic. Therefore, our photos will depict children performing normal activities for children of that age. Care will be taken to minimize photos depicting genitals of the minors where it is not incidental to their being nude or the activity they are performing. (2)
These images will be used in our Meetup group photo albums, nitoc.org website and may also be included in printed materials promoting our group, The Naturist Society, the American Association for Nude Recreation or family naturism in general.
All our members are given three options in the application form they completed when joining our group:
The choice made by our members on their application forms will remain in place indefinitely unless revoked in writing by the member.
All guests (non-members) that attend our events will be asked if they are OK with being included in the photos at the moment the photos are taken and their authorization will apply to all photos taken at that event. Those that do not wish to be included will be provided with a wristband to identify them and should move away or turn away from the camera and not volunteer for group photos.
A signed written photo release will be required for all children whether they are the sons and daughters of full members or guests. These releases will remain on file and in full effect untill the minor turns 18 years old or revoked in writing by the parent that originally signed their photo release. Said revocation will apply to all future photos and will include the removal from the site of all photos that we are able to locate of the corresponding minor with a reasonable search of the events they attended.
Any member or guest that is included in our photos may at any time request to be removed from the photo or have the image removed altogether, by requesting it in writing and providing a copy or a link to the corresponding image or images that they would like removed.
NitOC allows any member to post photos to our Meetup albums, however NitOC’s Board of Directors reserves the right to remove any photos that do not represent our groups values. While NitOC is a family group it requires all person’s be 18 years old in order to join their Meetup group, therefore all minors will need to view the photo albums using their parent’s access.
